Northern Michigan is ablaze with color as Mother Nature spreads out a beautiful quilt to warm our hearts through the coming winter. Pictured is a view from Castle Rock in St. Ignace taken yesterday by yours truly. With busy schedules, deadlines, and many chores before the cold locks us down please remember to take some time to breathe in the beauty of Michigan. Unplug and recharge your mind and soul in the presence of creation.

Over the years I have come to realize the vital importance of getting deep into the great outdoors. It is breath-taking and humbling, inspiring and renewing. It provides a new starting point where we are not the center of the universe but simply a spectator in the greatest show ever. While we are not the beginning and end of all things, the one that is loves us beyond all understanding and that is something we can easily forget in this punch clock and technology infused world. It is very easy to forget that things like love, and beauty, and hope are even possible if you are glued to the screen day in and day out. All you have to do is unplug, just for a little bit, and open your eyes to the beauty that is all around you. Trust me, it will do you far more good than checking the news or the newest/greatest show, game, or event.

Thank you again for supporting my books, and for listening in to my thoughts here at Camp Erehwon.
